A few months ago, we ordered two wooden teething/nursing necklaces from Life Circles through Etsy.
The chunky, bright-colored silicone jewelry other companies make for this purpose is gorgeous and I want it. But these wooden necklaces are way, way, way cheaper. They’re also way more gender-neutral (Eric wears them, too, because he wears the baby, too).
We ordered these partly because Simon is a big-time hair-pulling and hair-chewer. Which usually is fine, but hey, sometimes when you’re wearing a baby on your chest, you want to hold your neck at a normal angle and not experience spitty pain as your child soothes him- or herself to sleep. The necklaces have been quite helpful in this regard. We keep one in the diaper bag, and that’s the one we use a lot.
Oh, and the wood and string get really spitty, but they dry quickly and nicely.
